Rapid Cleanup in Milk
A rapid cleanup method was used for analysis of cyanuric acid or melamine in milk. A DPX-WAX tip was used by simply aspirating 500 uL of a milk solution (100 uL whole milk with 400 uL of 50/50 acetonitrile and water), mixing with the sorbent, and dispensing a clean colorless solution.

The final solution has had sample matrix compounds removed in just seconds, including proteins, sugars and fatty acids. The analytes of interest (melamine and cyanuric acid) are found in the clear colorless solution ready for LC/MS or GC/MS (following derivatization).
